COLUMBUS, Ind. – IU Columbus goalkeeper Jacob Kasarda has been named the River States Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, following a standout stretch that showcased his consistency and control between the posts.

Kasarda anchored the Crimson Pride defense across two matches, allowing just two goals in 180 minutes of action while recording 21 saves and a stellar .913 save percentage. The junior kept a clean sheet in IU Columbus's 1-0 victory over Brescia (Ky.) on October 2, posting nine saves in the shutout win.

He followed that performance with an impressive 12-save effort in a tight 2-1 road loss at #22 WVU Tech on October 4, once again demonstrating poise and leadership in goal.

Through two matches, Kasarda holds a 1.00 goals-against average and one shutout, emerging as a reliable presence for the Crimson Pride defense.

IU Columbus will look to build on Kasarda's strong play when they return to action later this week.
