MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – The IU Columbus men's soccer team was well-represented in the River States Conference postseason awards, with four Crimson Pride players earning 3rd Team All-RSC honors and one being recognized for character and leadership.
Junior Jacob Kasarda, junior Eduardo Cordova, 5th year senior Kevin Cruz, and sophomore Christian Cardoso were all named to the 3rd Team All-RSC, while junior Alejandro Saldivar earned a spot on the Champions of Character Team.
Kasarda, the Crimson Pride's starting goalkeeper, turned in a stellar campaign between the posts. He led the RSC in total saves (104) and ranked fourth in save percentage (.722), finishing the season with three shutouts while logging over 1,300 minutes in goal. His reliability and shot-stopping ability kept IU Columbus competitive throughout the year, making him one of the top keepers in the conference.
Cordova, a veteran defender, provided consistency and leadership on the back line, starting all 16 matches and anchoring a defense that showed strong improvement as the season progressed. His ability to organize the backfield and his disciplined play were vital to the Crimson Pride's overall defensive structure.
Cruz, one of the team's primary attacking threats, made his presence felt offensively with five goals in 15 appearances. Known for his pace and finishing ability, he proved to be a difference-maker in key moments during the season.
Cardoso was another spark for IU Columbus's offense, finishing the season fourth in the conference in total shots (41) while scoring four goals and adding three assists. The sophomore midfielder started 16 matches and served as a consistent playmaker, contributing on both sides of the ball.
Saldivar, who earned Champions of Character recognition, appeared in 16 matches and recorded one goal and one assist. The honor recognizes student-athletes who exemplify the NAIA's five core values—integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership—both on and off the field. The program aims to teach and model these principles through competition, coaching, and community involvement.
IU Columbus finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 6-10-1 and 3-6 in conference play.
These honors mark another step forward for IU Columbus as the Crimson Pride continue to grow and establish themselves as a competitive force within the River States Conference.
