MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – The River States Conference announced its 2025 Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches Poll on Tuesday, with IU Columbus selected to finish seventh in the standings, as voted on by the league's 11 head coaches.
The Crimson Pride, under the direction of head coach Tim Hoeflinger, are entering the program's fourth year of existence and look to build on their program's growth and development. Last year, IU Columbus worked to establish their presence in the competitive RSC landscape.
IU East was picked as the preseason favorite, earning 99 points and receiving nine of the 11 first-place votes. Shawnee State University took second in the poll with 90 points and one first-place vote. Rounding out the top five were the University of Rio Grande (83 points, 1 first-place vote), Midway (71 points), and IU Kokomo (67 points).
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods was picked sixth, followed by IU Columbus in seventh place with 44 points. Brescia finished eighth, followed by WVU Tech, Oakland City, and Kentucky Christian rounding out the poll in 11th place.
The Crimson Pride will begin their cross country season in early September with their first meet at the Hanover Invitational at Hanover College on September 13th. The RSC Championship meet will be held in November.
