The River States Conference announced the All-Conference teams for women's basketball on Thursday, and IU Columbus had two players honored. Junior
Abby Fleetwood was listed on the 2nd team, while sophomore
Amaya Collins made the 3rd team. Fleetwood and Collins became the first two Crimson Pride players to earn All-Conference recognition.
Abby Fleetwood ranked high on several RSC individual statistical categories this season:
Minutes per game 36.8 1st
Points per game 16.4 5th
Steals per game 2.9 2nd
Rebounds per game 8.6 3rd
Amaya Collins also finished among the leaders in several categories:
Minutes per game 35.3 2nd
Points per game 14.9 9th
Steals per game 2.5 3rd
Coach James Adams: " Both of these players deserved this recognition. They were the heart and soul of this team. They showed great leadership, not only with their experience but also their all-out effort. Abby is just a true competitor, and I believe she has a chance to be Player of the Year in the conference next season. I can also see Amaya being a first-team all-conference player next year. With some help coming in the form of size and depth from recruits and transfers, I believe Abby and Amaya will lead us to compete for the top spots in the conference next year."
