Box Score The IU Columbus women's soccer team hosted a very good Harris-Stowe Stae University team on Wednesday at Nexus Park. The Crimson Pride had few scoring opportunities, but they were able to hold on late to come away with a hard-fought 2-1 victory. 

The first half was tight throughout. With 18 minutes remaining in the half, Lily Campbell had a good look at the goal but was denied on an excellent stop by Hornets goalkeeper Kheilani Alexander. Crimson Pride Goalkeeper Zoe Bippus made a great save with six minutes left in the half on a shot by Keziah Oluoch, and the half ended 0-0.

The Hornets offense was aggressive early in the second half, but they couldn't find the back of the net. The Crimson Pride finally broke through with a booming goal by Nadia Harris (assist by Lydia Wooley) at the 56:46 mark for a 1-0 lead. The visitors continued their aggressive style but the Crimson Pride defense held strong. With 18 minutes remaining, Jessica Finfera nailed a corner kick that, after a few touches, found its way into the net for a 2-0 lead. The Hornets finally got on the board with a goal by Laura Bordiga at the 84:58 mark to make it 2-1. The final five minutes were tense as the Hornets kept attacking, but the Crimson Pride defense, combined with a great effort by Bippus in goal, held on for the 2-1 win.
