Box Score The IU Columbus women's soccer team hit the road on Thursday to play the University of Cincinnati-Clermont. The Crimson Pride grabbed the lead in the first half and held on for their second straight 1-0 victory. The win moved their record to 5-2-1 on the season.
Madesyn Sunderhaus scored on an assist from
Halle Archer at the 23:19 mark for a 1-0 lead. That proved to be enough as the defense, backed up by goalkeeper
Zoe Bippus, held on the rest of the way.Â

Bippus, a sophomore goalkeeper from North Posey High School (Evansville, Indiana), posted her second consecutive shutout. This was also her fifth shutout of the season (four wins and one draw). While Bippus gets the credit for the shutout, and deservedly so, the rest of the team has done a great job defensively all season.
As the final score indicated the game was close throughout. The Cougars had eight shots on goal compared to six for the Crimson Pride, and the hosts had four corner kicks versus three for the visitors. The Crimson Pride were called for 10 fouls and three yellow cards, while the Cougars were only charged with three fouls and one yellow card.
Next on the schedule: The Crimson Pride open River States Conference play on Saturday, October 3rd as they go on the road to play West Virginia TechÂ
