Janet Hertz is an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Indiana University Columbus, where she contributes to player development, training design, recruiting, and match preparation while supporting student-athletes on and off the field.

Prior to IU Columbus, Hertz served as head coach at Madison Consolidated High School, leading the program to success in academics, character development, and on-field performance. She later joined Columbus North High School as a varsity assistant, helping guide record-setting defensive performances and undefeated home seasons. She also brings additional experience from Indiana ODP and Columbus Express Soccer Club, focusing on technical development and talent identification.

A former collegiate player at Saint Joseph’s College (NCAA Division II), Hertz earned Scholar-Athlete honors and developed a strong foundation in both academics and athletics. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes accountability, tactical awareness, and a player-centered approach, influenced by her service in the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps, where she was recognized with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Humanitarian Service.

Hertz holds multiple coaching licenses, including a UEFA German C License and USSF C License, and remains committed to continued professional development.
