Box Score 2 Crimson Pride recorded the first win in the school's and program's history with a 5-2 win against Huntington. Riley Mertl led the Crimson Pride to victory on the pitcher's mound. The right-hander went five innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out three. Blake Nigg threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Nigg recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Crimson Pride. Griffth took the loss for Huntington. The pitcher allowed five hits and five runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out seven.
Crimson Pride racked up five hits on the day. Peyton Blinn and Ross all managed multiple hits for Crimson Pride. Ross and Blinn each collected two hits to lead Crimson Pride. On the day, the depth got the best of the Crimson Pride in game two. Crimson Pride watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 15-4 loss to Huntington on Sunday. Huntington scored on a walk by Kuhns in the first inning, a single by Moser in the first inning, a single by ComStock in the first inning, a single by Wolff in the second inning, a single by Malott in the second inning, and a groundout by Moser in the second inning. The Crimson Pride struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Huntington, giving up 15 runs.
Huntington took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Wolff singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Malott singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, and Moser grounded out, scoring one run. Huntington scored five runs in the fourth inning. Huntington's big inning was driven by a triple by Ginder and by Kuhns. Kollen earned the win for Huntington. The ace allowed seven hits and four runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking one. Simmons threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
