The IU Columbus men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 road defeat against Oakland City in Saturday's conference matchup. The loss drops the Crimson Pride to 4-10-2 overall and 0-6-1 in conference play.

Oakland City struck first in the 16th minute when Ian Cowie found the back of the net unassisted. The hosts extended their lead just before halftime as Dwight Savoury converted on an assist from Pablo Herrero in the 40th minute, making it 2-0 at the break.

Willem Hulsebosch added a third goal for Oakland City in the 73rd minute, assisted by Filimon Asfha and Savoury, to seal the result.

Jon Michael Bright led the Crimson Pride's attack with two shots on goal, while goalkeeper Jacob Kasarda finished with six saves against persistent pressure from Oakland City's offense, which generated 25 total shots with 9 on target. The hosts also controlled set pieces, earning 8 corner kicks to IU Columbus' 4.

The physical contest saw 23 total fouls, with IU Columbus called for 14 and Oakland City 9. Marco Aguilar received the match's only yellow card just before halftime.

The defeat keeps IU Columbus searching for their first conference victory of the season. 

The Crimson Pride close their season out, on the road, Thursday, October 26 at 7:30pm at Shawnee State.
