IU Columbus Claims Five-Set Victory Over IU Southeast

The IU Columbus Crimson Pride showcased their hard work and determination in their victory over IU Southeast (25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 20-25, 14-13) on Tuesday afternoon at Ceraland.

Cora Baker spearheaded the Crimson Pride's offense with 11 kills and a .116 hitting percentage, while Sadie Egan delivered a stellar all-around performance with 9 kills, 11 digs, and 3 service aces. The duo's consistent play proved crucial as IU Columbus battled through momentum shifts to secure their seventh win of the season.

After taking control with decisive victories in the first two sets, the Crimson Pride weathered a fierce comeback attempt from IU Southeast, led by Ella Brooks' match-high 21 kills. Despite dropping sets three and four, IU Columbus displayed tremendous poise in the decisive fifth set, ultimately prevailing in a nail-biting 14-13 finish.

The Crimson Pride's defensive effort proved crucial to the victory, as they recorded 76 team digs. Kenze Bostic contributed key plays at the net with 2 blocks, while Maddie Hunter provided steady defense from the back row. The team maintained their composure offensively, hitting .158 for the match, with Kera Wischmeier adding an efficient 5 kills on 13 attempts.

This victory marks an important conference win for IU Columbus as they continue their push to improve their standing in league play. The Crimson Pride look to carry this momentum into their next match, on Friday, October 25th.
