Despite a spirited effort in the final set, the Crimson Pride (8-11, 4-8 RSC) couldn't overcome the Red Wolves' (19-8, 8-2 RSC) efficient attack.
Sophomore Cora Baker led the Crimson Pride's offensive efforts with 5 kills, while senior Leah Thompson and Kera Wischmeier added defensive presence at the net with 3 blocks each. Kenze Bostic anchored the back row with solid defensive play, contributing to the team's 29 digs.
The closest set came in the third, where IU Columbus pushed IU East to a 25-22 margin. However, the Red Wolves' Jessica Swimm proved too much to handle, as she finished with a match-high 12 kills and a .296 hitting percentage.
The Crimson Pride struggled to find offensive rhythm throughout the match, finishing with a -.008 hitting percentage against IU East's stout defense, which recorded 18 total blocks. Sadie Egan and Olivia Embry each contributed 4 kills in the effort.
