Box Score Despite a spectacular shooting performance from sophomore Owen Law, who poured in 27 points on an efficient 10-of-13 shooting including five three-pointers, the IU Columbus Crimson Pride (0-2) continued their search for their program's first-ever victory, falling 91-67 to Huntington University (2-0) on Friday night.
Law's career-best effort was supported by center Gavin Dowling, who added 9Â points and 10Â rebounds in 34 minutes of action. Deante Luster contributed across the board with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 2Â assists in the losing effort.
The Crimson Pride struggled to find their footing early, trailing 38-30 at halftime. Despite shooting a respectable 39% from the field and 82.4% from the free-throw line, IU Columbus was unable to contain Huntington's balanced attack, which saw five players score in double figures led by Drew Goodline's 20 points.
Huntington dominated the glass, outrebounding IU Columbus 48-36, and pulled away in the second half where they outscored the Crimson Pride 53-37. The loss drops IU Columbus to 0-2 in their inaugural season as they continue to search for the program's historic first victory.
The Crimson Pride won't have to wait long for their next opportunity, as they return to action tomorrow afternoon against Cleary University their second of the Ness Brothers Hall of Fame Classic. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 PM at Platt Arena in Huntington, Indiana as IU Columbus looks to break into the win column for the first time in program history.
