The IU Columbus Crimson Pride (9-12, 5-9) fell to the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Pomeroys (30-5, 9-5) in straight sets on Friday afternoon, dropping the match 25-22, 25-14, 25-16 at the Jeanne Knoerle Sports and Recreation Center.

Sophomore Cora Baker continued her strong season, leading the Crimson Pride with 12 kills while hitting an efficient .312. Senior Leah Thompson added 6 kills, while Freshman Kenze Bostic contributed 6 points to the offensive effort.

Addison Lemon orchestrated the offense with 28 assists, while Madison Hunter added 9 digs defensively. 

Despite keeping the first set competitive at 25-22, the Crimson Pride struggled to maintain consistency against the Pomeroyssa sa' strong serving game, which recorded 6 aces to IU Columbus' 1. The hosts also held the advantage at the net, outblocking the Pride 9-4.

As a team, IU Columbus hit .123, compared to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods' .239 hitting percentage. 

The Crimson Pride look to bounce back quickly, with every set and match critical in the race for postseason contention. The team returns to action for their last home game of the season November 5, at 7pm, at Cera Sports Park. Admission will be free for all who hold a Crimson Card or Ceraland Pass.
