Box Score

The IU Columbus Crimson Pride (0-2) struggled to find their shooting touch in a 90-57 road loss to Spring Arbor University (3-0) on Saturday afternoon. Despite a strong performance from freshman Jacelyn Starks, who posted 17 points and 2 rebounds, and 3 steals off the bench, the Crimson Pride were unable to overcome a challenging shooting day and a significant rebounding deficit.

Sophomore guard Abby Fleetwood contributed 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, providing efficient offense in her team-high 40 minutes of action. However, the Crimson Pride shot just 32.7% from the field as a team and struggled particularly from beyond the arc, connecting on only 2 of 16 three-point attempts.

Spring Arbor established control early, building a 26-19 lead after the first quarter and extending it to 41-33 by halftime. The Cougars dominated the glass, outrebounding IU Columbus 54-34, led by Alana Nelson's 21-point, 13-rebound performance.

The bright spot for the Crimson Pride came at the free throw line, where they shot a solid 76.7% (23-30). Sydney Waldron added 8 points and 5 rebounds in 31 minutes of play.

IU Columbus will look to earn their first win of the season in their next contest as they continue their early-season schedule.
