IU Columbus Sweeps Goshen in Dominant Performance

Box Score In a compelling display of skill and teamwork, the IU Columbus volleyball team secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Goshen in game 2 on the day. The Crimson Pride improved their season record to 2-1 with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, and 25-18.

Leading the charge for IU Columbus was senior outside hitter Maddie Hunter, who put on a spectacular offensive show. Hunter dominated the court with 9 kills on 15 attempts, boasting an impressive .333 hitting percentage. Her all-around game was on full display as she also contributed 4 aces, 5 digs, and a block, totaling a match-high 15 points.

Setter Sadie Egan orchestrated the offense masterfully, dishing out 20 assists and adding 3 digs to her stat line. Middle blocker Kera Wischmeier made her presence felt at the net with 4 kills, while libero Alyva Luze anchored the defense with 11 digs and 4 aces.

The Crimson Pride's victory was a true team effort, with contributions coming from across the roster. Cora Baker and Abigail Watson chipped in with 3 and 5 kills respectively, while Leah Thompson added solid defensive play with 2 digs.

IU Columbus' serving proved to be a significant factor in the match, with the team recording 8 aces compared to Goshen's 2. This aggressive serving kept Goshen's offense off-balance throughout the contest.

Defensively, IU Columbus outperformed their opponents, tallying 61 digs to Goshen's 21. This stellar back-row play allowed the Crimson Pride to extend rallies and create more offensive opportunities. The team also edged out Goshen in blocks, with 2 total blocks to Goshen's 1.
