From the opening whistle, IU Columbus found themselves under intense pressure from a rampant WVU Tech side. The visitors wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Ollie Corris opening the scoring in the 11th minute. WVU Tech's Christian Piewe then took center stage, netting a first-half brace with goals in the 22nd and 45th minutes to give the visitors a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime.
