XC 10/25GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The IU Columbus Cross Country teams continued their remarkable season with record-breaking performances at the Great Lakes Classic hosted by Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Both the men's and women's squads delivered standout efforts, highlighted by freshmen Luke Neibert and Phoebe Dowty, who each shattered school records in their respective races.

On the men's side, Luke Neibert led the way once again, finishing 13th overall with a school-record time of 26:19, breaking his brother Jackson's previous mark by over a minute. Neibert's performance continues his streak of impressive finishes and cements his name atop the Crimson Pride record books.

Emiliano Rosales-Lopez followed as the team's second finisher, clocking a personal-best 28:08 to place 121st overall. Henry Fleetwood, in his first collegiate appearance, crossed the line in 220th place at 29:57, while Chance Knapp ran a personal record of 30:31 for 229th. Bryaun Manuel (32:19) and Joey Martinez (PR 36:32) rounded out the lineup, finishing 256th and 275th, respectively.

Despite an injury forcing Jackson Neibert to withdraw, the Crimson Pride men placed 20th of 29 teams, showing continued depth and resilience.

In the women's race, Phoebe Dowty once again stole the show, joining the prestigious "sub-19 club" with a blistering 18:57, smashing her own school record by 35 seconds. Her performance earned her an impressive 2nd place overall finish in a highly competitive field.

Erin Jones continued her strong season with a season-best 21:24 to place 104th, while Tori Gauck recorded a new personal record of 22:23 for 145th. Rounding out the women's scorers were Alexandria Saavedra (186th, PR 25:36) and Grace Barkes (195th, PR 28:58) — both achieving lifetime bests to help the team to a 20th-place finish out of 24 teams.
