Women's Soccer Ends Season on a High Note with 10-0 Victory Over KCU

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The IU Columbus women's soccer team closed out its 2025 campaign in record-breaking fashion, delivering a 10-0 victory over Kentucky Christian University on Saturday afternoon at the BCSC Soccer Complex. The win marked the program's best record in history (5-10-2) and the first season with multiple conference victories (3), highlighting a milestone year for the Crimson Pride in its third year of existence.

IU Columbus dominated from start to finish, out-shooting Kentucky Christian 69-0 and holding complete control of possession throughout. Lily Campbell, Jessica Finfera, and Rachael Garcia led the offensive surge with two goals apiece. Campbell also dished out two assists, contributing to four total goal involvements on the day.

The Crimson Pride's attack came from every angle — eight different players scored and eight recorded assists. Madesyn Sunderhaus, Rebecca Valdez, Madelyn McIntosh, and even goalkeeper Zoe Bippus each found the back of the net, with Bippus scoring on a second-half connection from Madison Merritt in a memorable moment for the freshman standout.

IU Columbus' defense was untested, as the Crimson Pride did not allow a single shot or corner kick. Bippus and Emma McQueen combined for the shutout in goal, securing the team's fifth clean sheet of the year.

The Crimson Pride opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Finfera converted a setup from Campbell. Campbell later scored herself, assisted by Cecilia Hargis, before Garcia and Sunderhaus extended the lead to 5-0 by halftime. IU Columbus continued to pour it on in the second half, adding five more goals to seal the lopsided win and celebrate the season's end in style.

The victory pushed IU Columbus to 5-10-2 overall and 3-7 in conference play, both new program bests. With key returners like Campbell, Finfera, and Bippus set to anchor next year's roster, the Crimson Pride enter 2026 with momentum and confidence after a historic season of progress.
