COLUMBUS, Ind. – IU Columbus junior Jermayn Baxter exploded in the season opener, earning River States Conference Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week honors after a dominant scoring performance.
Baxter powered the Crimson Pride to a 77-74 win over Kuyper University, leading all scorers with 32 points on an efficient 15-for-22 shooting (68.2%) from the field. The junior guard also added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 33 minutes of action, setting the tone for IU Columbus' season.
His relentless offensive attack and poise in crunch time helped the Crimson Pride secure their first win of the year, showcasing why Baxter is one of the conference's premier scoring threats.
IU Columbus will look to carry that momentum into its next match-up as the Crimson Pride continue non-conference play.
