Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Law and Pickett's Career Nights Not Enough to Overcome Red Wolves

RICHMOND, Ind. – The IU Columbus men's basketball team fought hard but ultimately fell to IU East, 113-85, on Saturday afternoon. Despite impressive individual performances from Owen Law and Nathan Pickett, the Crimson Pride were unable to overcome the Red Wolves' efficient shooting and rebounding dominance.

IU East set the tone early, jumping out to a 61-43 halftime lead behind hot shooting from beyond the arc. IU Columbus attempted to keep pace but struggled to slow down a Red Wolves' offense that shot 61.1% from the field and 48.4% from three-point range.

Owen Law delivered an outstanding performance, setting a new career high with 30 points on an efficient 12-of-16 shooting, including three made three-pointers. Law also contributed four rebounds and two assists. Nathan Pickett was another bright spot, also achieving a career high with 20 points while shooting 8-of-13 from the field and knocking down three shots from deep.

Bobby Wonnell chipped in with seven points, while Deylon Johnson came off the bench to add nine points and four steals. Chase Ridao facilitated the offense with three assists, and the Crimson Pride collectively tallied 13 assists and 12 steals in the contest.

The Red Wolves showcased their depth and efficiency, with six players scoring in double figures. Antuane Allen led IU East with 27 points on 11-of-14 shooting while pulling down 12 rebounds for a dominant double-double. Jake Johnson and Dewayne Robinson were lethal from beyond the arc, combining for nine three-pointers.

IU East also controlled the glass, out-rebounding IU Columbus 39-18, which allowed them to generate second-chance opportunities and maintain their lead throughout the game.

IU Columbus (1-21, 0-10) will look to regroup as they hit the road again for another RSC match-up on Tuesday (Feb. 4) at Oakland City University. Tip-off is set for 6:30 PM CST.
