Box Score The IU Columbus men's basketball team battled on the road at Midway University on Saturday afternoon but came up short in a 110-81 loss to the Midway Eagles.
After trading baskets early, Midway asserted control in the first half, building a 62-37 lead by intermission behind efficient shooting and balanced scoring. The Eagles continued their momentum in the second half and pushed the margin into double digits for much of the afternoon.
Trevin Lieck led the Crimson Pride offensively with 19 points on 6-of-14 shooting, adding 8 rebounds and 5 assists in 35 minutes. Kyan Reichhoff contributed a strong all-around outing with 14 points and 2 assists, while LaRenzo Hopkins scored 12 points and Eric Jackson added 10 points and 6 rebounds to keep IUC competitive.
Guard Damontae Thompson chipped in 9 points and 5 steals, and Airrion Boyd added 10 points and 7 rebounds, providing additional energy on both ends of the floor. The Pride shot 46 % from the field (29-of-63) and 33 % from three (7-of-21), but turnovers and Midway's balanced scoring kept the Eagles in command.
