Jonah Wichman

Jonah Wichman is a passionate baseball coach and former collegiate athlete from Columbus, Indiana, whose journey in athletics reflects a strong commitment to leadership, perseverance, and player development. A 2019 graduate of Columbus East High School, Jonah was a standout student-athlete, earning All-State honors in football during his junior and senior seasons. He was a key contributor on the 2017 state championship football team and helped lead the baseball team to a state runner-up finish in 2019.

Following high school, Jonah began his collegiate baseball career at Butler University. After two seasons—and navigating both an injury and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic—he transferred to St. Charles Community College in St. Louis, where he earned his Associate of Arts degree. Jonah later completed his academic and athletic career at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he played two additional seasons of collegiate baseball and majored in Interdisciplinary Studies.

In 2023, Jonah gained coaching experience at the collegiate level, serving as an assistant coach for the Louisville Jockeys in the Ohio Valley League. In 2025, he joined the IU Columbus Crimson Pride coaching staff alongside his father, Brian Wichman—bringing his knowledge, energy, and hometown pride to the program as he continues to mentor and develop student-athletes.
