Game 2 Goes to IWU

The offensive juggernaut that is Indiana Wesleyan (IN) continued rolling, pounding out 14 hits in a 10-2 victory over IUPUC to improve to 4-0 on the season.

After being held scoreless over the first two innings, Indiana Wesleyan broke through with a run in the third on an error that allowed Wyatt to score from third.

The floodgates then opened in the fourth with a five-run outburst. Harvey doubled home a run before Martin added an RBI single. After a fielder's choice scored another run, Wyatt crushed a two-run homer to make it 6-2.

Leading 6-2, Indiana Wesleyan tacked on four more runs in the sixth to put the game away. Thomas doubled home a run before Cope launched a towering two-run shot over the left field wall. Buck capped the scoring with an RBI single.

In the circle, Etter-Cox earned the win for Indiana Wesleyan, allowing just 2 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings while striking out 4.

At the plate, multiple Wildcats had big days offensively. Wyatt went 3-for-3 with a homer, double and 2 RBIs. Cope homered and drove in 2, while Buck and Harvey each had 2 hits and an RBI. Thomas also chipped in with a double and an RBI.

For IUPUC, McDonald singled home a run in their two-run third inning, while Owens added an RBI single as well. Stieneker, Shelton and Johnson each had a hit apiece.

But IUPUC's pitching staff had no answer for Indiana Wesleyan's potent lineup, allowing double-digit runs for the second straight game.

With the victory, Indiana Wesleyan improves to 4-0 on the young season, while IUPUC drops to 0-4.
