Golden Bears Best Crimson Pride on the Road

SUMMERSVILLE, WV – The IU Columbus men's basketball team battled hard but ultimately fell short against WVU Tech, dropping an 83-65 decision on Saturday afternoon at Summersville Arena and Convention Center. Despite a dominant performance from Owen Law, who posted a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, the Crimson Pride were unable to overcome WVU Tech's depth and efficiency.

IU Columbus (1-23, 0-12) started strong, keeping pace with WVU Tech (15-8, 6-6) early in the first half. Law's offensive presence and Damontae Thompson's 13 points helped the Crimson Pride stay within striking distance, heading into halftime down 41-33. However, WVU Tech maintained control in the second half, capitalizing on second-chance opportunities and strong ball movement to pull away.

While IU Columbus shot a solid 47.3% from the field, struggles at the free-throw line (33.3%) and turnovers (16) proved costly. The team showed promise from beyond the arc, connecting on 38.1% of their three-point attempts, with Ben Sylva contributing a pair of triples.

On the other side, WVU Tech benefited from a well-rounded effort, led by Cameron Danser's 22 points, including six three-pointers. The Golden Bears also dominated the glass, outrebounding IU Columbus 42-33, with Sincere Edwards leading the way with 17 rebounds and 16 points.

The Crimson Pride are back in action on Tuesday (Feb. 11) for their finally road game of the year. IUC is set to face the Brescia University Bearcats (5-15, 3-9). Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM CST.
