Box Score COLUMBUS, Ind. – Five Crimson Pride players scored in double figures as IU Columbus pulled away late to defeat Oakland City, 67–57, on Wednesday evening at Circle K Fieldhouse at NexusPark, completing the season sweep of the Mighty Oaks in River States Conference play.
IU Columbus (4–16, 2–6 RSC) used a strong second half to create separation, outscoring Oakland City 38-16 over the final two quarters. The Crimson Pride held the Mighty Oaks to just six points in the fourth quarter, sealing the conference victory.
Hadassah Hurt led the way with 18 points, knocking down 6-of-12 from three-point range, while adding six rebounds and five assists. Amaya Collins followed with 15 points, three assists, and three steals, playing all 40 minutes.
Abby Fleetwood recorded a strong all-around performance with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists, earning a double-double. Morgan Montgomery and Emma Beaver each added 10 points, with Montgomery also pulling down 13 rebounds to post a double-double of her own.
IU Columbus dominated the glass, finishing with a 43-32 advantage, including 17 offensive boards that led to key second-chance opportunities. The Crimson Pride also tallied 18 assists on 25 made field goals.
After leading 24–23 following the first quarter, IU Columbus went cold in the second, scoring just five points before regrouping at halftime. The Crimson Pride responded with a 21-point third quarter, retaking control of the game and entering the fourth with momentum.
Defensively, IU Columbus forced 17 Oakland City turnovers and limited the Mighty Oaks to 9.1% from three-point range (1-of-11).
With the win, IU Columbus improves to 3-6 in River States Conference play and secures the conference sweep of Oakland City.
