The IU Columbus men's soccer team played art IU Northwest on Labor Day and and they were shut out by the RedHawks (5-2-0). This game was close in every statistical category but the one that mattered with a final score of 2-0.
The RedHawks got on the board with a goal by Chrisitan Sanclemente Roa at the 20:41 mark on an assist from Gavin Niebel. Niebel scored the only goal of the second half at 48:14 with an assist by Ezekiel Mugisha.Â
Each team had five corner kicks and 16 fouls. IU Columbus was issued two yellow cards (
Noah Cordero and
Cruz Jafri), while Alan Nunez of IU Northwest received a yellow card in the second half.
Coach Kevin Nolan: "I was very disappointed in the play today from start to finish. We started slow and ended slow. Hopefully we use this as a wake-up call and get everyone back on the sane page. Congrats to IU Northwest on executing a great game plan against us."
