Jared Brown is a passionate and detail-oriented basketball coach dedicated to player development and building strong, authentic relationships. Originally from Wisconsin, Jared brings seven years of coaching experience to the IU Columbus Men’s Basketball program, with a background that spans high school and competitive AAU levels.

Jared began his coaching career with the Wisconsin Starz AAU program, working with athletes from ages 13 to 15. He later advanced to head coaching roles with the Wisconsin Swing AAU program, guiding 15U through 17U teams from 2021 to 2024. In the high school arena, Jared served as an assistant coach at Milton High School before taking over as the head boys basketball coach at Waterloo High School, where he led the program from 2022 to 2024.

In addition to his coaching experience, Jared was a collegiate athlete himself, playing guard at Clarke University and Simpson College. His time as a player instilled in him a strong understanding of the game, which he now brings to his coaching.

Jared earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Performance with an emphasis in Strength & Conditioning from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, graduating in December 2023. His coaching philosophy emphasizes attention to detail and execution, while fostering a positive environment where players can thrive, enjoy the game, and grow both on and off the court.
