Box Score The IU Columbus soccer team traveled to Upland, Indiana to take on Taylor University Saturday night. The Trojans (6-0-2) showed why they are undefeated as their defense shut down the Crimson Pride for a 2-0 win.
The Crimson Pride had only one shot in the first half compared to nine for the home team. The Trojans broke through in the 21st minute when IU Columbus turned a
Luka Gole corner kick into its own net, an own goal that put Taylor ahead 1-0, and that would be the score at the end of the first half.Â
The second half was also a defensive battle. Isaiah Ross scored the only goal of the second half at the 80:05 on an assist by Caleb Van Dop to give the Trojans a two goal cushion and seal the win.
Taylor outshot the Crimson Pride 19-6, including a 13-2 edge in shots on goal, and won six corner kicks to none for the Crimson Pride.
Jordin Jones had 11 saves for IU Columbus.
