Box Score The IU Columbus volleyball team cruised to another victory on Saturday as they defeated Brescia University in three sets to move their record to an impressive 13-1. The win also marked the 50th win for volleyball in program history.

The Crimson Pride were sitting some players with injuries, they had not played a match for seven days, and they appeared a bit rusty at the start. A few uncharacteristic errors had them trailing the Bearcats 7-4 in the first set. They finally got rolling behind the serving of Bailey Stevens, scoring nine straight points for a 13-7 lead. The visitors closed the gap to 15-12, but the Crimson Pride went on a 5-0 run with Sadie Egan serving. They wrapped up the first set on kills by Mika Salinas and Cora Baker at 25-18.

The second set was similar with the Bearcats leading 10-6 until the hosts caught fire. The Crimson Pride won 10 of the next 12 points for a 16-12 lead. They held the lead the rest of the way, fittingly closing out the set 25-19 on another service ace from Riley Scroggins.

The Crimson Pride did not wait around long in the third set. After a 2-2 tie to start the set, they went on a 16-3 run to make it 18-5,  and they finished the match with an easy 25-11 margin. 

The statistics reflected the overall depth of this team. Salinas led the team with nine kills, followed by Egan and Ava Granson (7 each) and Baker (6). Stevens had 21 assists and Egan added 15. Five players - Stevens, Egan, Baker, Salinas and Scroggins - each had three service aces. Baker had 11 digs while Adelynn Anderson added 8 digs and Egan and Kilani Jackson contributed 6 digs apiece.

Coach Jose Olivo: "Getting our 50th win is my first thought. Everybody played great. Bailey had a long service rally in the 1st set that brought us out of a deficit, and Riley did the same for us in the second set. Those helped set the tone for the rest of the match!"
