Box Score The IU Columbus women's soccer team played host to Goshen College on Saturday at Nexus Park. This game was tight the whole way, with neither team able to break through for the first 87 minutes. Sophomore Madesyn Sunderhaus nailed the game winner with just 2:08 remaining on an assist by senior Madison Merritt for a dramatic 1-0 win.

The Crimson Pride had a couple of early chances, but a shot by senior Lily Campbell hit the crossbar. Goshen then had a series of three shots on goal, but Zoe Bippus made the save on each one.

The second half was really more of the same as each team had two shots on goal that were saved by the keepers, including a shot by the Maple Leaf's Callie Tadman with 4:20 remaining. However, Bippus made the save, setting the stage for some late game heroics. Former Franklin County High School (Brookville, Indiana) players Sunderhaus and Merritt teamed up for the game winner at the 87:52 mark for the win.

Coach Kevin Nolan: "It was a total great performance from start to finish today. I told the team at halftime that this game is going to either end in a draw or a 1-0 win, and the ladies made sure we were the team with the goal. They stuck to the game plan with the tactics we were working on all week. We kept fighting to the very end and were able to steal the win in the last two minutes of the game."

Next on the schedule: The Crimson Pride have one final non-conference tune-up as they travel to Batavia, Ohio to play the University of Cincinnati-Clermont on Thursday, September 24th
