Mackenzie Matern is a right-handed pitcher and infielder from North Vernon, Indiana. She attended Jennings County High School and began her college career at Marian University.

During her high school career, Matern established herself as a standout pitcher and competitor. She earned All-Conference Honorable Mention once and First Team All-Conference three times, along with Third Team All-State honors. She also reached an impressive milestone of 400 career strikeouts during her time at Jennings County.

Matern played travel softball with Indy Dreams, gaining valuable experience against strong regional competition and further sharpening her pitching and infield skills.

Off the field, Matern is dedicated to her academics and has earned Honor Roll recognition. She is pursuing a degree in Nursing.
