Brayden Furnish is a sophomore pitcher for IU Columbus, bringing a deep multi-sport background and competitive mindset to the mound. The 195-pound native of Austin, Indiana is a graduate of Austin High School, where he was one of the school’s most decorated all-around athletes.
Furnish competed in baseball, basketball, cross country, tennis, and golf during his prep career. He earned All-Conference and All-Sectional honors in baseball, basketball, cross country, and tennis, while also becoming a 1,000-point scorer on the basketball court. In addition, he was a Sectional Champion in both tennis and cross country and qualified for the state meet in cross country.
On the travel circuit, Furnish played with the Rawlings Tigers, gaining valuable experience against high-level competition and continuing to refine his skills on the mound.
The son of Tiffany and David Luedeman, Brayden credits Matt Bayes as a key influence in his athletic development. He is majoring in Business as he continues to build his collegiate baseball career at IU Columbus.
