Alex McComb is a catcher for IU Columbus, bringing leadership, toughness, and a strong baseball IQ behind the plate. The 5-foot-10 native of Columbus, Indiana is a graduate of Columbus East High School, where he developed into a dependable presence both defensively and offensively.

McComb played travel baseball with the Indiana Bulls and Demand Command, competing against high-level talent and refining his skills as a catcher and field general.

In high school, he was honored with the Lou Giovanni Leadership Award, recognizing his impact on and off the field. At the collegiate level, McComb earned River States Conference Baseball Scholar-Athlete Team honors, highlighting his commitment to excellence in the classroom as well as in competition.

The son of Melissa and Andrew McComb, Alex credits John Gratz as a key mentor in his development as a player and leader. He is majoring in Psychology and plans to use his education to pursue opportunities that allow him to work closely with and positively influence others.
