Baylon Holmes is a sophomore corner infielder for IU Columbus, providing versatility and a steady presence at both first and third base. The 6-foot native of West Lafayette, Indiana is a graduate of Benton Central High School.

Holmes was a multi-sport athlete in high school, competing in baseball and tennis. He played summer baseball with On Deck Baseball, gaining valuable experience and continuing to develop his offensive and defensive skills. His performance at the prep level earned him Indiana Coaches Association All-State Honorable Mention honors.

Off the field, Holmes is highly involved on campus. He is a member of the IU Columbus Honors Committee and Student Advisory Council and earned Dean’s List recognition in Spring 2025.

The son of Brian and Barbara Holmes, Baylon credits Jarrett Hammel as a key mentor in his development as a player. He is majoring in Business with a concentration in Marketing as he continues his collegiate baseball career.
